Award Won By Clarke
(N.Z. Press Assn.—Copyright) LONDON. Australia’s world champion middle-distance runner, R. W. Clarke, has won one of the two 1965 8.8. C. television international sports awards. The award was announced at the end of ap hour-long television review of 1965 sport by the president of the International Football Federation, Sir Stanley Rous. The other international trophy went to the South African golfer, Gary Player. The 1965 British Sportsview personality of the year was the world road race cycling champion, Tommy Simpson, a Yorkshireman who now lives in Belgium.
