Literary Fund Grants

WELLINGTON, Nov. 26.

Two grants from the New Zealand Literary Fund have been announced by the Minister of Internal Affairs (Mr Seath). Miss Helen Shaw, of Auckland, will receive £l5O to assist her in the editing of the letters of the late Walter d’Arcy Cresswell, a wellknown New Zealand writer. P.E.N. New Zealand centre will receive £124 to bring the amounts of the Hubert Church award for prose and the Jessie Mackay award for poetry to £lOO and £5O respectively. The grants were made on the recommendation of the fund’s advisory committee.
