CUTTING DOWN RACES

(N.Z. Press Assn. —Copyright) MELBOURNE.

The Olympic hurdler, Miss Pam Kilborn, has been ordered to restrict her tour of New Zealand by the Victorian Women’s Amateur Athletic Association. The association did this to ensure Miss Kilborn would be in Sydney to compete in the annual R. H. North Shield match on January 29-30.

Miss Kilborn refused an invitation to compete in Ame-

rica to make the New Zealand tour.

She wanted the opportunity to compete against the Russian, Miss Irina Press, who wrested the world 80 metres hurdles record from her this year.

Miss Press, with her sister. Inna, will tour New Zealand with four Russian men athletes.

The Victorian order means Miss Kilborn will race against Miss Press four times instead of seven.
