Special Prayers In Chch. Churches

In response to Pope Paul’s appeal for prayer to observe the end of the Vatican Council, the Roman Catholic Bishop of Christchurch (the Most Rev. B. P. Ashby) has directed the parishes and religious communities throughout the diocese to recite special prayers. All masses from next Sunday until December 18 will include the prayer to the Holy Spirit The council prayer will be recited before the sermon at masses on Sunday and December 5.

Each parish will observe three days of solemn prayer at any time before the council ends on December 8, the feast of the Immaculate Conception.
