Sewerage Job Day Ahead

The communitor handling the sewage from St. Andrews Hill was installed a day ahead of schedule on Thursday by the team effort of employees of the Christchurch Drainage Board, the Municipal Electricity Department and the contractor.

On Tuesday the chairman of the board (Mr F. R. Price) said preliminary diversionary work for piping the sewage to the oxidation ponds at Bromley would necessitate the discharge of raw sewage into the Estuary for a limited time while the communitor chamber was installed. He estimated that this would take until yesterday, but the job was finished a day ahead.
