SOCKBURN’S NEW POOL

A water treatment plant is being installed at the Sockburn swimming pool while work is proceeding on the construction of the dressing sheds.
The Paparua County Council's engineer (Mr A. ’Dyhrberg) said yesterday that there were good prospects of the job being completed by December 11, when the pool will be officially opened. “In the rush, it may be that some of the painting will r.ot be done, but we are assured that construction work will be completed,” he said. The Minister of Internal Affairs (Mr Seath) is unable to perform the opening ceremony, which will now be undertaken by Mr M. A. Connolly, Member of Parliament.
