Burge, who is tipped to lead Australia in the first test against the M.C.C., was out for a duck yesterday In Queensland's second Innings against NewSouth Wales in the Sheffield Shield match at the Brisbane Cricket Ground. Burge made a dashing 111 In Queensland's first innings hut did not get started yesterday. This was typical of the way fortunes have fluctuated In this match. Queensland looked set for an outright win but at stumps It looked to face a hard fight today, the last day of the match, to avoid defeat. Queensland made 307 in its first innings, dismissed NeuSouth Wales for 108 and forced It to follow on. Yesterday NewSouth Wales carried its second innings total to 450—leaving Queensland 252 to win. When failing light forced stumps to be drawn a half-hour early Queensland had collapsed to be three for 39.
