IMPROVING MITCHELL

Aust. Coaching Advised (N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON. The 17-year-old left-handed tennis player, Jim Mitchell, may be sent to Australia for tournament play if his association, Canterbury, endorses the suggestion. A letter was tabled at last night’s meeting of the management committee of the New Zealand association, from Len Atkins. Australian professional coach, urging that Mitchell be sent. Atkins, at present coaching in Christchurch, said every attempt should be made to improve Milch ell's game. The New Zealand Association decided to ask Canterbury whether it wanted the junior advisory committee to consider the proposal. Mitchell could play in New South Wales, Victoria and South Australia before returning to Wellington for the Wellington championships and Linton Cup trials.
