Sir, —If, as “8.A.” asserts, the naturalness of sex is a base desire, then the origins of all of us need a lot of living down. Nevertheless, it is increasingly apparent that the advertising world’s job of seeking to fulfil up-to-date needs is affecting the minds of its operators. To see, as is possible, three illustrated panels under the titles, “His dog, his woman, his whisky,” makes one wonder about their originator. Was his origin perhaps New Guinea? Such advertisements and those of wffiich “8.A.” complains should not be taken seriously. Surely the large section of our Christians “8.A.” claims to represent can rely upon the censorship of editors and the N.Z.B.C.—Yours, etc., TO EACH HIS OWN. October 26, 1965.
