N.Z.B.C. Advisory Committee

Sir, —In this so-called democratic State we already have a censor who dictates what ve shall read and censor who dictates the type of films we shall see. We now read that a regional committee has been appointed who, no doubt, will dictate what we will view on television, judging by Mr Lascelles’s statements on his views of “too much shooting.” I would prefer to leave the selection of programmes to professional broadcasting programme arrangers, who are doing a jolly good job in satisfying all tastes. 1 would not presume to tell Mr Lascelles what he should watch on television and I certainly object to his telling me what I should view.—Yours, etc., SATISFIED VIEWER.
