Adegbenro. appeared in the High Court in Ibadan, yesterday, charged with illegally assuming the Premiership of Western Nigeria. Nine more party leaders appeared in Court with him. The Alhapi was arrested on Thursday after he had declared that the results of Monday’s regional general election were false and had formed an “interim Government” with himself as Premier.
In Monday’s regional general elections, the ruling Nigerian ■ National Democratic Party won with a landslide victory over the combined opposition, the United Progressive Grand Alliance.
