N.Z. Infantry Fare welled
(N.Z.P. A.-Reuter—Copyright) KUCHING, October 17. The Sarawak Minister for Loca' Government, Dato Dunstan Endawee, tonight presented mementos to the First Battalion, Royal New Zealand Infantry Regiment, at a farewell party given by the people of Simanggang, in the State’s second division.
The regiment is shortly leaving Simanggang after completing a five-month tour of duty in the second division, which borders Indonesian Borneo. The mementos are in the form of shields with the State’s crest embossed on them.
Another Ombudsman. Strong moves are under way to appoint an ombudsman in New South Wales.—Sydney, October 17.
