EXPANSION BY A. ELUS

On National Scale (N.Z. Press Association) DUNEDIN, October 4. A Dunedin-based company, Arthur Ellis and Company, has become the first national bedding concern as a result of purchasing the Howard Abbot group of companies at Palmerston North. The companies would be known in Palmerston North as Arthur Ellis and Company, Ltd., and would give an extension of the company’s operations into the North Island. Mr J. L. Ellis said the company now had three factories as a result of the Palmerston North take-over, the other two being at Dunedin and Christchurch.

To cover further development of North Island operations, the company has purchased additional land in Palmerston North.
