First Prize Shared

(N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, August 16. A New Zealander and an Australian shared first prize in the sponsored art competition being held as part of the seventh New Zealand universities arts festival. Equal first prize went to Richard J. Frizzell, of Canterbury University, with “Clustered Forms” and Allan Fox, of the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology with “Figure in Landscape.” Each won £75 for his painting. Third pprize of £25 went to another Australian, Dianne Latham, also of the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology with “Three Figures.” Australias took four of the five £lO prizes awarded. The fifth went to an Aucklander, Edward Kindleysides. The competition attracted 34 paintings of which 27 have been hung. s
