BOXING BILL

President Johnson would establish a three-man federal boxing commission with authority to grant or refuse licences for radio and television transmission of fights. The commission would have to ascertain that contracts or agreements, for a fight were not contrary to the best interests of either professional boxing or of the public. It would have the right to forbid radio and television coverage of any fight that was suspected of involving collusion, racketeering or bribery.
