‘Tie Becoming Too Tight’ (Special Crspdt. N Z P A.) LONDON, August 11. The tie between children and their mothers was becoming too tight, said Dr. , Simon Yudkin, chairman of the Council for Children’s Welfare. Commenting on the looseness of the tie in many immigrant families, .Dr. Yudkin said a child should not be tied to its mother exclusively for five years or even three. Children needed contact with others quite early. The typical small, tight, English family was a new phenomenon and existed hardly anywhere else.
