Blank Cheque For Agricola “The Press" Special Service OTAKI. The management committee which controls the stallion, Agricola, yesterday declined an invitation from the Anglo-Irish Bloodstock Agency, London, to put a mice on the horse, deliverv to be effective after the 1965 covering season in New Zealand. Mr Alister Williams, at whose Te Parse Stud in Masterton Agricola is quartered said the decision of the syndicate was unanimous. The agency said it had a client interested in the purchase of Agricola, but did not indicate whether, if the negotiations succeeded, it was intended to repatriate the horse to England or he would go to some other country. Earlier in the year an Australian syndicate made similar inquiries, but the owners refused to negotiate. Agricola is by Alycidon and is a half-brother to Precipitation, which is sire of the current champion stallion. Summertime, and also of Count Rendered and Admiral’s Luck, which were influential stallions in New Zealand. Agricola's first crop are racing this season as two-year-olds and he has had seven individual winners, which is regarded as a highly-encourag-ing start for a horse expected to excel as a sire of stayers.
