JAPANESE KILLED
Avalanche On Mont Blanc (N Z.P.A -Reuter—Copyright) CHAMONIX, July 2. Two Japanese were killed on Wednesday by an avalanche on Mont Blanc, Europe’s highest mountain. French mountain police have reported. The Japanese—a man aged 26 and a girl aged 23—had been on a camping holiday, the police said. They both came from Tokyo. The two climbers were descending the mountain after scaling the 3507-metre Blaitiere Needle when they were swept away by the avalanche.
