Like The Beatles
(N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, July 2. The Springboks, like the Beatles before them, are being protected by a police guard from overenthusiastic supporters during their stay in Wellington. “Our main fear is having the hotel deluged by these fans,” the Wellington police superintendent. Mr J. W. Saunders, said today. “We make a point of a police guard with any
celebrities visiting the city,” he said. “Our job is to keep order and demonstrations could be one of our problems,” he said. There were no demonstrations outside the Springboks hotel today. Up to last night the constable on duty had not been troubled. “At least, with the Beatles we were flat out holding all the girls back,” said the constable.
