Validation Of Gifts

Local bodies have been told that validating legislation will be introduced this year to authorise them to make grants and other payments from their general funds to the Churchill Memorial Fund.
“Some members of the public still seem to have a mistaken impression that local bodies are acting without ; authority in making grants iand payments for the purposes of the fund.” the Minister of Internal Affairs (Mr Seath) said today. Mr Seath said the Government had given undertakings Ito introduce legislation sevleral times in public announcements.
