Culverden Show
In spite of the prolonged drought in the area there were good entries in most classes at the Culverden Garden Circle’s second show. The president, Mrs D. M. Earl, introduced Miss O. G. Murgatroyd who opened the show. Judges were Mr and Mrs D. N. White, Mrs D. B. Guild and Mr Robert Smith. At the close of the show, Mrs R. Milne presented trophies as follows: Dahlias: Champion, Mrs R. Martin; most points, Mrs D. M. Earl. Cut flowem: Premier bloom, Mrs D. M. Earl; most points, Mrs E. A. Black. Vegetables: Most points, Mr J. G. Bisphan.
Decorative: Most outstanding exhibit, Mrs C. Morrison. Open: Most points, Mrs D. Dwyer; special prize, Miss N. McMillan. Intermediate: Most points, Miss L. Earl; special prize, Mrs F. K. Forrester. Beginners: Most points, Mrs P. J. Murphy; special prize, Mrs M. Chick. Children, open: Most points, Annette McKay and Rosemary Forrester (equal). Under 10 years: Most points, Marie McKay.
