Wrapping Of Bread

(N.Z. Press Assn.—Copyright) MASTERTON, Feb. 16. The Master Grocers’ Federation today reaffirmed its policy of compulsory wrapping of bread by bakers. At its conference in Masterton, the federation passed a remit to this effect and agreed to ask the Trade Practices and Prices Division of the Department of Industries and Commerce to adjust prices accordingly. Compulsory wrapping of bread was provided for in the Sale of Foods and Drugs Regulations but was subsequently repealed when pressure was brought to bear for the law to be enforced, said the man-aging-secretary (Mr R. M. Barker).
