Sail Away Picked In Egmont Cup

“The Press” Special Service

WELLINGTON. The improving Sail Away, which finished a good second in the Ashhurst Cup at his last start, could score his first open class success in the Egmont Cup at Hawera today. He will be ridden by W. D. Skelton. The hardest for Sail'Away to beat might be Fascinate, a recent winner on the Wairoa circuit, and Funny Story. The double will be completed with the Flying Handicap for which Grand Win looks an outstanding prospect. She has been working brilliantly and appears to have recovered from the trouble which prevented her from showing her best form at Trentham.

Le Plus, which is improving, and the top-weight Donald Dinnie could be the best 'of the others. The track should be firm. Selections: — 11.15 a.m.—Te Roti High-weight: Economic, Dark Intrigue, Rand. 11.50 a.m.—Trial Plate: Classical Glow, Main Defence, d’Artagnan.
