To Sail Today The Blue Star Line's motor-ship Napier Star, which has been repairing an overheated intermediate tunnel shaft bearing in Lyttelton since Monday morning, will sail again for London today. The Napier Star, which left Bluff last Friday for Panama, was diverted to Lyttelton when the trouble occurred. She will top up her fuel before leaving. Adze Found A dark greenstone adze was found recently in the sand at Manuka Bay, North Canterbury, by Mr T. Stevenson, of Spotswood, and Mr lan Paynter and Mr Louis Bastida, two visiting Australians from Melbourne. The adze, weighing about 6 ounces and measuring 4in by 2in, is to be presented to the Cheviot Historical Records Society. More TV Sets Between December 31 last and February 5, the number of licensed television sets in the four main centres increased by 4784, from 193,444 to 198,228. The number for the main centres with the figures for December 31 are; Auckland 97,478 (95,043), increase 2435; Wellington 41,998 (41,179), increase 819; Christchurch 40,539 (39,553), increase 986; Dunedin 18,213 (17,669), increase 544.—(P.A.) Change Of Name The Mayor of Timaru (Mr C. E. Thomson) believes that the names of both Washdyke and Saltwater Creek should be altered. The consensus at Saltwater Creek, at the south end of the city, is that Redruth, originally a strip on the flat below Kensington, on the east side of the main highway, would be preferable from a public relations point of view. The name Washdyke is also considered harmful to business, and it is expected that public opinion will dictate that steps be taken by the Timaru City Council to meet the wishes of those favouring a change. (F.0.0.T..) Gift For Baths A gift of £1550 towards the cost of a filtration plant for the school baths was received by the board of governors of the Aranui High School yesterday. The gift was from the Parent-Teacher Association, and was the proceeds from a fair, the board was told. Warm Day With a maximum temperature at Harewood of 76 degrees between 1 p.m. and 3 p.m., the weather in Christchurch yesterday was again warm and pleasant. The temperature at 6 a.m. was 51 degrees, rising to 63 degrees by 9 a.m. and reaching 74 degrees by midday. The temperature in the Botanic Gardens at 3 p.m. was 74 degrees, and it was 70 degrees on the Government Life building at 4.30 p.m. There was a light coverage of cloud, and winds were light northeasterly all day.
