Facts Of War
Sir, —References to the facts of war by “Returned Soldier, 1914-18” are, up to a point, realistic. Thus, war is horrible. The Russians suffered heavy casualties because of poor equipment and preparation. Beyond ' this, however, what is suggested is not constructive. Experience shows that war stems from racial aggression. Ideology is merely a red herring. If peace and prosperity are to continue there should be cooperation with the government of the day in joining with the free world to create a deterrent to confrontation and gangster action in the international sphere.—Yours, etc.,
T. M. SHAW. February 13, 1965.
