Bread
Sir,—Your correspondent, “Facts,” is irrelevant and not in accordance with my original letter, which concerned the type, weight, and price of a loaf of bread. In a recent comment on the price of bread you mentioned the “nominal 21b loaf of bread.” Perhaps you could enlighten me if that referred to the fancy loaf of lesser weight, and if price control has been removed from the standard loaf of not less than 21b? Commercial practice makes it appear that reputed measures have replaced standard measures to avoid increased market selling prices to the consumer.—Yours, etc., RIP VAN WINKLE.
