Motel Tariffs
Sir, —It seems that the motel proprietors have followed in the footsteps of the Railways Department and bumped up their charges. It used to be so much a unit. Now it is per person and no weekly rate. Where does anyone rent a flat per person? Why a motel? However the Automobile Association and quite a number of others still charge per unit and are four-star grading at that. I hope all my holiday friends will join me in patronising the motels which have kept their charges down. Of course at the peak periods everything is full but I am alluding mainly to the slack periods.—Yours, etc., HOLIDAY-MAKER. December 7, 1964.
