'N.Z. Press Assn.—Copyright) SYDNEY, October 2.
Visiting New Zealand riflemen failed in the Jamieson aggregate shoot at Sydney today.
K. Craw, of Linton, did best of the big New Zealand contingent when he finished thirtieth with a total of 283.
The young New South Wales country rifleman, R. Rowlands. made a fine recovery to win the Jamieson. He came from thirty-third position overnight to snatch a win in a shoot-off with three other competitors. All four finished with 290 out of a possible 300—one point more than the previous post-war record for the Jamieson. In the shoot-off, Rowlands had five successive bulls-eyes to clinch the title. He now starts favourite to win the coveted Queen’s Prize, which starts tomorrow and continues until Monday.
