Profit Cut By 33.4 p.e. Keen competition and price cutting reduced Christchurchbased Brother Sewing Machine Corporation (New Zealand), Ltd.’s, profit by £844 or 33.4 per cent to £1678 in the year to March 31. Taxation provision Is £702 lower at £724. As announced earlier, a final dividend of 2} per cent has been recommended against 5 per cent last year, making 7j percent (10 per cent last year) for the year. This will take £l5OO (£2000). Carry forward is £2435 against £2257 brought in. Shareholders’ funds are £l7B higher at £22,435 but earning rate slips to 7.5 per cent from 113 per cent. Current assets are £42,442 (£36,801) and fixed assets £6734 (£6813). Current liabilities are down at £16,976 (£17,184).
