Father, Son Successful (N.Z. Press Association' BLENHEIM. October 2. A father and son won their bouts in the eliminations for the New Zealand wrestling championships at Blenheim today. P. Moore (Canterbury). 1963 bantam-weight champion, had to retire Injured in a bout with D. Mudgway (Central Districts). Mudgway's son. J. Mudgway, then beat P. Massett! (Otago).. who represented New Zealand during this year's tour of India. Massetti leading ail the way, tried a roll to break a stagnant period in the bout but went straight back on to his own shoulders. Mudgway qulcklv pinned him there to win by a fall. Results: Bantam-weight.—B. Stannet (Waikato) beat R. Morris (Wellington), on points: D. Mudgwav beat Moore, retired Injured. Middle-weight.—J. Downev (Waikato) beat D. Cullin (Wairarapa), by a fall: R. Butts (Wellington) drew with R. Udv (Auckland). Light Heavy-weight —J. Harris (Wellington) beat J. Dumblc (Auckland), on points: J. Eldler (Otago) beat G. Webster (Waikato), by a fall. Heavy-weight.—J. Oosterman (Waikato) beat C. Smith (Marl borough), on points: T. Milat (Auckland) beat K. Millar (Wellington), on points. Fly-weight.—G. Hansen (Auckland) beat R. Astrella (Waikato), on points; J. Mudgway beat Massetti, by a fall. Feather-weight.—N. Scott (Wairarapa) beat W. Pay (Otago), on Eolnts; I. B. Roberts (Canterury) beat D. Murton (Wellington)., on points. Light-weight.—D. Whitta (Wellington) beat H. Clarke (Marlborough), by a fall: K. Scott (Wairarapa) beat J. Lindsay (Waikato), on points Welter-weight. —D. Halford (Central Districts) beat B. Hadcroft (Canterbury), on points; M. Joiner (Wellington) beat J. Mcßae (Auckland), on points.
