LIFE BOYS’ HOLIDAYS
Some Special Activities Most of the Life Boy teams in the Canterbury area will meet during . the holiday period, and in addition some teams have organised special activities.
The 20th Christchurch team will visit the Road Tunnel and the Christchurch Fire Station. A trip over the Port hills to Lyttelton will be the holiday highlight for the recently-formed 7th Christchurch team, which is connected to the St. Silas’s Church, Northcote. A “man on the moon” evening will test the abilities of members of the 6th Christchurch team at “dressing up.” The fathers have been invited to attend as visitors from earth. This team has also planned a film evening, and will challenge the Ist Rangiora team for the Rugby challenge cup. In addition to defending the Rugby cup, the Ist Rangiora team has invited the Ist Christchurch to a cowboy and Indian evening. In Ashburton, the 2nd Ashburton team has organised a hobo evening in the Baring square Methodist hall, and, on September 3, the 2nd Ashburton team will challenge the 7th Ashburton in a potted (miniature) sports evening. Many boys have entered the Life Boys' national painting competition, in which boys from all over New Zealand are competing.
