ABATTOIR MEAT
State Help Sought
A case for Government assistance to abattoir authorities similar to that being given to meat-export houses may be made by the New Zealand Municipal Association. The abattoir committee of the City Council said last evening that there could be no argument against New Zealand meat consumers being protected by the standards required for all export slaughter houses. With the continuing growth of the city, modernisation and development of the city abattoir would be an everpresent problem, the committee said. There was no doubt that for the main centres it would be necessary to bring all killing points up to export standard.
