CHARITY MATCH

The veteran All Black, D. Young, showed he has lost none of his old skills and J. Hotop and R. M. Smith were often prominent. In the Cantabrian back line, L. Davis played an outstanding game, giving his outsides beautiful service and running judiciously. A local player, R. Wards, showed ability on attack and kept W. F McCormick quiet with his copybook tackles. The Invitation XV pack was in splendid form. Often it spreadeagied the opposition with powerful bursts and quick short passing. J. Le Lievre and R. G. Fraser were often prominent in this respect. E. Veal, showed surprising speed in the loose and M. Meikle was often a dominant figure in the line-outs. M. Millar had a field day, scoring 17 points, while S. Leary contributed 13 points for the Invitation XV Tries for the Southbridge Invitation XV were scored by A. Wyllie (2), Fraser, D. A. Arnold, A. G.
