Jury Fails To Agree
(N.Z. Press Association). AUCKLAND, May 22. After a retirement of more than four hours a jury in the Supreme Court at Auckland today failed to reach agreement in the trial of James Edward Paine, aged 50, a salesman, who had pleaded not guilty to four charges of theft by misappropriating £3675 given to him as investments in three companies. Mr Justice Boys ordered a new trial.
