Sex Education
Sir,—One factor which the critics of the recent Danish experiment in sex education appear to have forgotten is that the problem they describe as “immorality” has been with us for some time, as examination of a large class of Roman literature will bear witness, and 1 dare say it will be with us for some time to come. Instead of attempting to ignore the entire question, as some of your correspondents wish to do, it is far more realistic to accept sexual promiscuity as a fact and act accordingly. The action of the Danish Government was not only enlightened but extremely realistic and I think that more people should realise that no amount of empty moralising with outdated concepts will lower the statistics relating to venereal diseases.—Yours, etc., A. SIMPSON. April 1, 1964.
