Christchurch Choirs

Sir, —Your remarks in this morning’s issue on our city choirs are worth noting. Indeed we have two fine choirs, but to send them to the Commonwealth Arts Festival will cost far too much. We do have a smaller choir which would do the work so much better—the Cathedral Choir. Mr C. Foster Browne has been honoured by Her Majesty. Now let us see him and his choir rewarded publicly by sending them to the festival. The cost would certainly be much less than in sending a choir the size of either of the others.— Yours, etc., D.R. April 1,1964.
