VISIT TO HOLLAND

Subandrio To Mend Fences

(N.Z P. A.-Reuter—Copyright) DJAKARTA, March 25. The Indonesian Foreign Minister (Dr. Subandrio) left today for Holland for a fourday visit at the invitation of the Dutch Foreign Minister (Dr. Luns). He told reporters before departure that this visit was “to build a new basis towards normalisation of Indo-nesian-Dutch relations. I hope a new basis can be used as the start for further growth of relationship between the two countries,” he said. There has been a gradual return to better relations between the two countries since the establishment of a Dutch Embassy in Djakarta. Visits by Dutch businessmen to Indonesia have increased in recent months, and last week an agreement on the joint establishment of a sales organisation for Indonesian goods in Amsterdam was signed. Dutch officials said Holland was still highly interested in Indonesia and Dutch firms would welcome an opportunity to pick up the threads broken during the dispute over West Irian.
