Prices In Line With Sugar
Some city stores yesterday increased their prices for golden syrup, treacle and icing and castor sugars, in line with the sugar price increase of 5d per lb. The new prices for icing and castor sugar are 6d per lb up on the old prices. The new prices for golden syrup are 2s 9Jd for a 21b tin compared with Is 10|d. Seven lb tins rose from 6s 3d to 9s sd. Treacle, a penny cheaper, has had a similar rise.
