Invercargill Wool In Good Demand

INVERCARGILL, Jan. 17. The second half of the offering of 46,000 bales entered for the third main Invercargill wool sale of the 1963-64 season met with as good a demand today as the first met on Wednesday. It seems likely that the average price per lb will be about 58d. and the average price a bale £Bl, with a total realisation in round figures of £3.725.000. At the November sale 29 886 bales were sold for £2.465.534. The average price a bale was £B2 9s lOd, and the average price per lb 59.22 d. A full bench of buyers was again present when the sale was resumed today. The sale was inclined to drag a little at the start, but the bidding soon livened and became as keen as it was on the first day. At times it was animated. The demand was particularly keen for hogget wool. Oddments such as pieces, bellies, and necks were also sought eagerly. Range of Prices The official range of prices Is:—
