CADET PRIZE

Award To Nelson Youth

A former cadet warrant officer Ist class ait Nelson College, who is the son of a Regular Army warrant officer Ist class, has won the Southern Military District Robert Friar Memorial Prue awarded to the best cadet in the district. He is Robert Upton, aged 18. who is now at Waiouru on a course before he goes to the Royal Military College, Duntroon, Australia, as one of the 1964 intake. His father is Warrant Officer J. Upton, stationed at Nelson. Last year Robert Upton was a prefect at Nelson College, head of his house and a member of the Ist XV. He played junior Rugby and junior cricket for Nelson Province.
