Tobacco Report

Sir, —Four of the medical members of the committee meeting to discuss diseases affected by smoking are smokers. Would their findings be prejudiced by the habit they have not renounced in face of all the evidence they survey? They have merely switched from cigarettes to cigars and pipes. If the will to forgo the habit

is lacking in these important representatives, are they an example for the young they advise not to begin smoking? They certainly appear to be so if only by showing how their will has been weakened by the habit.—Yours, etc., RIGHT TO HEALTH. January 13, 1964.
