Political Ban Lifted

The South Korean ruling junta today lifted a political ban on 266 leaders of the former civilian government but decided to continue to bar the former President, Syngman Rhee, the former Prime Minister, John M. Chang, and 72 others from political activities.
A junta decree adopted in March last year to bar former leaders from politics is to remain in force until 1968.
