Labour was short on the Lyttelton waterfront yesterday. At 8 a m. 260 more men were required to fill vacancies aboard ships working cargo. No vessel was completely idle. One coaster, the Navua, arrived and there were two departures apart from the inter-island steamer Hinemoa. These were the coaster Squall and the Danish motor-vessel Indian Reefer.
