Honours For Staff

The Queen has approved a resignation honours list submitted by Mr Macmillan.

The list includes a baronetcy for Mr Macmillan's personal physician. Sir John Richardson, who has attended Mr Macmillan throughout his present illness. A baronetcy is also conferred on Mr Macmillan's public relations adviser, Mr Sidney Harold Evans, and his Parliamentary private secretary. Mr S. Knox Cunningham.

The principal private secretary to Mr Macmillan, Mr Timothy Bligh, becomes a Knight Commander of the Order of the British Empire, and another private secretary. Mr Philip de Zulueta, receives a knighthood. A still higher honour goes to Mr Macmillan’s unpaid private secretary, the wealthy Mr John Wyndham, who receives a peerage.
