Radio Replaces Faulty Cable
(N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, Sept. 11 The Post Office’s stand-by radio link with the South Island had replaced all but three of the 35 telephone circuits lost when one of the Cook Strait coaxial cables developed a fault on Saturday, a Post, Office spokesman said today The cable maintenance ship Tetriever would be called in as soon as her schedule permits to repair the cable.
