ATTACK ON GROCER
Youth Gaoled; Another Fined (N.Z. Press Association) WANGANUI. Sept, 11. Concurrent terms •of imprisonment totalling seven years were imposed on Lindsay George Fry. aged 16. a farm employee, by Mr Justice Hutchison in the Supreme Court today on two charges arising from the robbery of an Aramoho grocer. William Glindwr Morgan on May 22. Fry was sentenced to two years' gaol on a charge of robbing Morgan of £33 8s while armed with an offensive weapon, and five years on a charge of causing Morgan grievous bodily harm with intent.
On a third charge of the theft of £33 8s jointly preferred against him and Loris Kevyn Pointon, aged 18, an apprentice carpenter. Fry was convicted and discharged. Poiniton. also found guilty of robbing Morgan while armed with an offensive weapon, was convicted and fined £5O and released on probation for two years. A special condition was that he also pay £25 costs. His Honour said the responsibility for the .attack on Morgan with a knife rested on Fry alone.
