Licensing Of Transport
An application for the transfer of a taxi-service licence from Raymond Roy Hooper to Marcus Johannes de Zwart and Douglas Raymond Hooper was granted by the licensing authority for the Christchurch transport district (Mr J. S. Haywood) yesterday. Mr A. I. Cottrell, for de Zwart and Hooper, said that both had been drivers for some years, and intended to run the taxi business in partnership. The purchase price of £3300 they were finding equally. An application by Philip Leslie Barr, trading as Barr's Motors (Mr J. H. Bretherton), for an amendment to a continuous goods-service licence by the addition of a vehicle authority for general goods was granted. Joseph Alexander Kiesanowski applied for the transfer of a continuous goods-service licence from William Robert Humm to J. A. Kiesanowski, Ltd. The application was granted. A rental-vehicle licence held by George Robey Watt was revoked, as was a rentalvehicle licence held by Raymond Savage. Mr M. W Croy appeared for the Commissioner of Transport.
