High Prices At Auction
(NJ! Press Association) AUCKLAND, July 22. ' High prices were paid for 11 of 14 motor-vehicles badly damaged by a frepk wave aboard the Navua just more than a week ago when they were auctioned at Auckland today. A crowd of 250 attended the sale. The vehicles auctioned were worth more than £12,000 before the damage, but they brought about £5500 today. The lowest price was £l6O for a Triumph Herald (showroom price £118) and the highest £lOl5 for a Vanguard saloon (£1299) bought by a Christchurch wrecker.
The Rev. P. N. Wright, vicar of St Luke's Anglican Church, has been appointed to the New Zealand Council of the Mission to Lepers. He is the Anglican representative on the Christchurch committee of the Mission to Lepers.
