National Debt
(N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON. July 9. The national debt taertaaed by £63498.005 in the year ended March 31 last and at that date stood at £867442444, according to the anneal report of the Auditor-General (Mr A. D. Barns) tabled in Parliament today. Ovrmu debt Increased by £17,406475. In London the loan indebtedness advanced to £136438405 and in the United States to £20,725441. Long-term debt in New Zealand amounted to £802,800 with a floating debt herself of £7450.000. New debt raised for national development purpose* was £74478,083 while new debt raised for loan conversion and redemption purposes totalled £145478,180.
