Proposed Rise For Country Players

“Country tennis players have all the advantages of affiliation that town players have, but pay considerably less in affiliation fees.” said Mr A C. Felton at a meeting of the management committee of the Canterbury Lawn Tennis Association last evening. “The present levy is Is 3d tor each country player, of which 6d is for the New Zealand Lawn Tennis Association. Town juniors pay 4s, and seniors 10s.” said Mr Felton. Delegates of sub-associa-tions in Canterbury will meet the management committee to discuss an increase in affiliation fees.

Nominations tor the annual coaching school of the Auckland Lawn Tennis Association were invited in a letter from the junior and intermediate section of the association. As Wiseman's tournament would be held in Auckland in the second week of the school holidays, the school would be held in the first week, to enable players to compete in the tournament. said the letter Players should be 15 to 18 years of age.
